General summary

Directs all data integrity, importing, aggregating, and structure for University advancement. Assists in the enhancement of records from outside data sources, utilizing intricate data mapping techniques.

Major duties

  • Works with University advancement leadership to understand goals and strategy when building parameters for data structure and integrity, including merging records, identifying duplicates, continual improvement of data practices, and system analytics.
  • Works with outside vendors to access data from disparate sources, convert data to meet system standards, and import data to new and existing records.
  • Works with University registrar to incorporate all graduate data upon degree completion and commencement.
  • Oversees administration of the database of record for all alumni and donors to the WMU Foundation.
  • Works with vendors to establish data transfer protocols.
  • Oversees input of data, including supervision of data entry and system administration staff.
  • Hires, trains, evaluates and supervises staff and student employees.

Minimum qualifications

Minimum qualifications based upon job documentation and industry best practices. Any current employees not meeting these qualifications will be grandfathered until they move to a different job.

Required education

  • Bachelor's degree in related field from an accredited institution.

Required experience

  • Three years' relevant experience.
  • Supervisory or lead experience.
  • Information Technology project management experience.

Required other

  • Ability to work irregular shifts and extended hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • Relevant industry certification.

Physical requirements

Office or other indoor work with minimal physical demands such as occasionally lifting or moving materials less than 25 pounds.

Working conditions

Work is generally performed in a well-lit, temperature-controlled indoor environment with occasional exposure to the outdoors or any number of elements.
