General summary

Responsible for developing and delivering training programs related to personnel and budget management for administrative staff.

Major duties

  • Creates and implements comprehensive onboarding and training with respect to budgets, personnel systems, and business processes for administrative assistants, office coordinators and budget analysts.
  • Develops, provides and continually updates training with respect to budgets, personnel systems, and business processes for all administrative assistants and office coordinators.
  • Creates and provides training workshops related to personnel and budget management systems.
  • Provides and coordinates administrative assistance to units when administrative assistant and office coordinator positions are temporarily vacant due to retirements, resignations or leaves of absence.
  • Provides centralized assistance with respect to grant and contract management for faculty, administrative assistants, and administrators.
  • Completes projects related to budgets and personnel as needed.

Minimum qualifications

Minimum qualifications based upon job documentation and industry best practices. Any current employees not meeting these qualifications will be grandfathered until they move to a different job.

Required education

  • Bachelor's degree in related field from an accredited institution.

Required experience

  • Five years' relevant experience.
  • Supervisory experience.
  • Experience training, and evaluation of staff.
  • Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated advanced skills with student information systems, human resource management, customer relationship management, and payroll.
  • Advanced knowledge of spreadsheets.

Physical requirements

Office or other indoor work with minimal physical demands such as occasionally lifting or moving materials less than 25 pounds.

Working conditions

Work is generally performed in a well-lit, temperature-controlled indoor environment with occasional exposure to the outdoors or any number of elements.
