General summary

Plans, organizes, monitors and executes strategic projects for WMU Grand Rapids and WMUx.

Major duties

  • Develops Grand Rapids-specific marketing efforts under the guidance of the marketing and communications unit. Produces and distributes print and digital materials, updates websites, maintains social media accounts, promotes merchandise and promotional items, and produces digital newsletters.
  • Serves as the student and faculty liaison to WMUx programs and services.
  • Manages day to day communication with Grand Rapids faculty, students and external partners.
  • Manages internal and external projects for Grand Rapids events, including rental agreements, event logistics, committee meetings and all associated communication.
  • Coordinates building logistics, including building hours, classroom assignments and facility support as needed.
  • Develops and manages project plans, schedules risk assessment plans, communication plans and project status reports.
  • Facilitates internal and external branding and imaging at the Grand Rapids facility, including exterior building signage, neighborhood branding, digital screens, and interior office, classroom, and common spaces.
  • Supports broader initiatives and projects in concert with main campus, as assigned.

Required education

  • Bachelor's degree in related field from an accredited institution.

Required experience

  • Two years relevant experience.
  • Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Project management experience.

Required other

  • Ability to work irregular shifts and extended hours, including weekends and holidays.

Physical requirements

Office or other indoor work with minimal physical demands such as occasionally lifting or moving materials less than 25 pounds.

Working conditions

Work is generally performed in a well-lit, temperature-controlled indoor environment with occasional exposure to the outdoors or any number of elements.
