General summary

Leads the internship equity program and serves as coach and mentor to interns. Assists University students with finding internships and tracks their participation.

Major duties

  • Communicates with employers to help develop internship offerings and programs at regional employers and non-profits.
  • Markets the University internship equity program. Recruits, screens, and places students in internships.
  • Provides support to University students looking for internships.
  • Develops and maintains a system to track internships completed by students throughout the university.
  • Conducts initial screening and the placement of students in internship roles.
  • Coaches students before and during their internship on career development, professionalism, and professional competencies.
  • Ensures evaluations of each intern and internship position are completed in a timely manner.

Minimum qualifications

Minimum qualifications based upon job documentation and industry best practices. Any current employees not meeting these qualifications will be grandfathered until they move to a different job.

Required education

  • Bachelor's degree in related field from an accredited institution.

Required experience

  • Three year's relevant experience.
  • Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills

Physical requirements

Office or other indoor work with minimal physical demands such as occasionally lifting or moving materials less than 25 pounds.

Working conditions

Work is generally performed in a well-lit, temperature-controlled indoor environment with occasional exposure to the outdoors or any number of elements.
