General summary

Develops, implements and evaluates recruitment and outreach activities, strategies and programs to recruit, admit and enroll military students to an assigned department at the University.

Major duties

  • Builds and maintains relationships with other University offices, departments and external stakeholders to represent programs and departments at various college outreach events.
  • Assists, mentors, and counsels military students throughout their college journey, aiding in entry, adaptation, persistence, and completion within the academic environment.
  • Develops, implements and oversees strategic plans to recruit military connected students with an emphasis on recruitment and retention. Recommends admissions policies, procedures and outreach activities.
  • Develops and implements outreach programs, including marketing strategies and maintaining marketing material such as the website in order to promote programs and activities that are consistent with enrollment goals.
  • Assesses enrollment and retention trends and results. Collaborates with the department to set goals and develop strategies to meet goals and objectives.

Minimum qualifications based upon job documentation and industry best practices. Any current employees not meeting these qualifications will be grandfathered until they move to a different job.

Required education

  • Bachelor's degree in related field from an accredited institution, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required experience

  • One year's relevant experience.
  • Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.

Required other

  • Ability to travel in-state and out-of-state.
  • Ability to work irregular shifts and extended hours, including evenings and weekends.

Desired qualifications

Desired experience

  • Two Years’ experience.
  • Current or prior military experience.
  • Knowledge of military education benefits.

Physical requirements

Office or other indoor work with minimal physical demands such as occasionally lifting or moving materials less than 25 pounds.

Working conditions

Work is generally performed in a well-lit, temperature-controlled indoor environment with occasional exposure to the outdoors or any number of elements.
