Overview
After completing this course, you will be able to identify the techniques that bolster effective management and strengthen leadership skills, as well as pinpoint opportunities for improvement related to your own management and leadership styles. We’ll also review the key differences and similarities between managing and leading, and what strengths are needed to succeed in both approaches.

Meet the Instructor
Dr. Annette Hamel
Dr. Annette Hamel is a faculty member in the School of Communication at Western Michigan University. She earned her Ph.D. at Ohio University, focusing her studies on Organizational and Interpersonal Communication. Her research has centered around communicating across differences, communication in groups and teams, and leadership studies. Dr. Hamel teaches courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels in interpersonal communication, intercultural communication, and leadership communication.
