—Western Michigan University's College of Education and Human Development (CEHD) hosted a career fair where school districts engaged with education students. Organized by WMU's Career and Student Employment Services, the 2024 School Professional Showcase Job Fair held March 15 also featured job ready resources to prepare students for upcoming interviews. Boasting participation from 25 school districts in the state, the event served as a platform for recruiters to connect with students seeking opportunities in schools.

Staff Compensation System: Job Evaluation Process

The staff compensation system job evaluation process is used to 1) establish a pay grade and job title level for new positions, 2) review the pay grade and job title level for existing positions where job content has changed. In both of these instances, requests to have a position reviewed must be approved by the divisional vice-president and the Office of University Budgets.

The charter of the committees is to evaluate changed or new jobs to determine the appropriate grade while considering the hierarchy of jobs across the University.
