WMU through and through
Marketing
Gerfen’s Bronco journey began back in 1979 as an advertising major at WMU, where he learned the business foundations that ultimately landed him his first job at a Minneapolis creative ad agency. This began his journey in advertising and the opportunity to work on major national brands such as The UPS Store, Iams Pet Foods and Tyson Foods, ultimately ending up back in Michigan at a large Detroit ad agency.

New Experiences and Challenges in Spain
Study Abroad
Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my study abroad experience and would recommend it to everyone. There are always culture differences and challenges, but what one learns along the way is worth the hard work. Western does a great job of taking care of students studying abroad, and I am very thankful to have gone on my trip to Spain. Categories: Europe, Spain, College of Education and Human Development, cultural differences, language barriers, communication, forming new relationships, food, restaurant culture, lessons learned, self care, Summer II.

From Aviation Camp to Aviation Captain
College of Aviation
Understanding the need to network and make connections, he immediately introduced himself to the FBO manager. Shortly after the introduction, he asked the manager for a job. With no risk, there can be no reward. Having secured a job, Bartlett made the official move to Florida in August of 2004 – the infamous year of hurricanes in Florida – namely Charley, Frances, Ivan and Jeanne.
