Internship: United Strategic Planning Intern (Summer or Fall 2019)

The intern would analyze the trends in Hangar Plan performance with a focus on optimizing the use of available resources to maximize the number of aircraft available to the flight schedule. The project will include summarizing data from past maintenance events to determine days in maintenance for each aircraft family and define a metric based on aircraft type and age. The intern will look for opportunities to more efficiently schedule paint and modification events along with heavy checks to minimize aircraft downtime. At the end of the project, the intern will present to management his or her findings along with recommendations for potential improvements to the plan.

Required

  • Ability to communicate complex quantitative analysis in a clear, precise and actionable manner
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Solid interpersonal skills with a focus on teamwork
  • Ability to handle simultaneous projects and adapt to a fast-paced, changing environment

Preferred

  • Experience with data visualization tools (Spotfire, Tableau, etc.)
  • Data analysis and quantitative modeling skills
  • Basic SQL or other programming languages

Other

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
  • Successful completion of the interview required to meet job qualification
  • Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position
