Some 175 employers expected to participate in Career Fair

Thursday, Feb. 16 , in the Bernhard Center Ballroom. Organized by WMU's Career and Student Employment Services, the event is expected to attract some 175 employers and 3,000 job seekers. Although open to the public, it is tailored to WMU students and alumni. The participating organizations represent such diverse areas as engineering, technology, health care, government, the nonprofit sector, insurance, transportation, construction, retail and consumer products, and environmental sciences.

College information session for veterans slated

Reverse transfer agreements, WMU’s Greene says, are a way to honor the college choices and paths students follow and ensure they receive the maximum benefit from both their time at their community college and at WMU. “We want them to have the flexibility of entering the job market whenever they wish and to have a resume that reflects the community college credentials they’ve earned as they work to complete a four-year degree,” Greene says.

Finance professional slated to lead WMU's BRCC

Haakenson's appointment to the leadership position coincides with the launch of a second round of funding the BRCC recently received from the state for additional life science startup investment. The new $3.8 million fund, dubbed BRCC-II, will be used to continue the center's legacy of job business support and job creation established with its original $10 million in state funding received in 2003.
