An American passport and a notebook on a bed.

When I told my mom that I wanted to study abroad, I could tell that she was apprehensive — to say the least. Once she saw that the whole program was guided by a professor, she was instantly more comfortable. The itinerary lines out everywhere we will be, and WMU provides staff to meet us at the airport. Having a lot of guidance from WMU and AIFS staff makes the looming trip seem substantially easier.

Although I’m beyond excited, my main fear in studying abroad is finding foods that I can eat. I’ve been paleo and gluten free for almost a year now, which makes eating out a challenge. Our professor has been giving me great ideas for how to eat “clean” while I’m traveling. Regardless, I’m looking forward to finding amazing local tea shops in London!
