Samantha Trimm and Kaley Kelly relax in a park in London!

Hi friends! It’s Sam here. I’ve compiled a list of amazing things I’ve learned and experienced while here in London on study abroad. Cheers!

1. Getting around London on the Tube is super easy and inexpensive! Just load up your Oyster card, and take care to get on the correct platform.
2. If you need a quick bite to eat in between class or breakfast on the go, look for a Pret A Manger! You won’t have to look hard, they’re practically on every corner.
3. On your day off, check out some of the amazing markets around London. You’ll fall in love with the blend of food, people and culture. My favorites were the Borough Market, Covent Garden Market, and Spitalfields Market.
4. You have to get yourself some classic fish and chips while you’re here! Pop into a pub, order some food, and make some new friends.
5. Fish and chips have a massive rivalry for the title of “England’s food,” and it’s not from what you’d expect... curry! The Indian influence is strong in the United Kingdom. If you like spicy food, you’re in luck!
6. Do yourself a favor and take the tube to the South Kensington stop. Just outside is a wonderful place called Cafe De Nata. They make Portuguese pastries called Pastel de Nata, and they’re incredible! It’s very hard to find traditional Pastel de Nata, so don’t miss out!!
7. After you’re tired from the nonstop of class, events and exploring, take a break in one of London’s stellar parks. If the sun is out, so are all the Londoners! You’ll meet some very well-behaved dogs, too.
8. If you’re a shopaholic, head down to Oxford Street and go crazy! Better yet, find the nearest Harrod’s and get yourself lost. Just don’t max out your credit card...
9. Near Covent Garden is a corner of the world called Neal’s Yard. It’s one of the photos you’ll commonly see on travel blogs for London, and rightfully so. You’ll never find it empty!
10. Be sure to stop at Nando’s somewhere along your journey. It’s a chain restaurant, so you’ll find quite a few around London. The chicken and spiced chips are soul food for sure!
