Youth Pickleball

"My name is Charlotte and I am 10 years old and I started pickleball about 3 1/2 years ago. I got interested in it as a family thing—we just like goofed around doing it. And then I wanted to do this program because I think pickleball is fun and I kind of want to start competing."

Active Aging

"I come with my son who is disabled. He was interested to see how he might benefit from it. We got weights for his hands and feet so that he could participant in his own way—and we have been coming ever since."

Giving Day is March 25

West Hills Athletic Club will be participating in WMU Giving Day on March 25  to support two meaningful programs that enrich the lives of both our youngest athletes and our most seasoned members.

Together, these two programs reflect the heart of West Hills: promoting health, learning, and community for every generation. Your participation in WMU Giving Day helps us continue our commitment to these two important spectrums of our community.

Every donation—from $5 to $5,000—makes a real difference, supporting everyone from young athletes just picking up a paddle to older adults staying active well into their 80s.

Why give to the Kalamazoo Stampede

Your gift helps remove barriers so kids ages 7–17 can discover a sport that builds confidence, community, and lifelong healthy habits. The Michigan Youth Pickleball Association introduces middle and high school students to one of the fastest‑growing sports in the country—offering them a fun, positive, and supportive environment to learn, grow, and belong.

When you give, you’re doing so much more than funding a program. You’re helping youth:

  • Develop coordination, focus, and fundamental movement skills
  • Build teamwork, sportsmanship, and confidence
  • Stay active in a low‑pressure, high‑fun sport they can enjoy for life
  • Find a place to connect with peers and feel part of a community

Your generosity opens the door to healthier futures, one young athlete at a time.

Active Aging

Why Give?

When you give for the Active Aging Group Fitness program, you’re doing far more than supporting exercise classes—you’re investing in the health, independence, and dignity of our community’s older adults. For many seniors, staying active isn’t just about fitness; it’s about staying connected, confident, and capable in everyday life.

Your gift helps older adults maintain strength and balance, reducing the risk of falls—the leading cause of injury in seniors. It keeps them mobile so they can continue doing the things they love, from gardening to playing with grandkids. It nurtures social connection, combating loneliness and isolation that can quietly erode both physical and emotional well-being. And it fosters joy, purpose, and community at a stage of life when these things matter more than ever.

Supporting Active Aging Fitness is truly a gift that multiplies—improving quality of life, extending independence, and building a healthier, more vibrant community for all. Every dollar helps someone stay strong, stay social, and stay thriving.

Your support ensures Active Aging participants have the equipment they need to move confidently:

  • $25–Set of 2.2 lb. ergonomic hand weights
  • $30–Slider set
  • $50–Set of 5.5 lb. ergonomic hand weights
  • $75–Specialized resistance bands
  • $250–Sturdy nonslip chair with arms for chair-based exercise
  • $10,000–Chairs to accommodate 40 participants
