Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis, Forgotten Harvest

An active member of Beta Alpha Psi while at WMU Haworth, Lauren Modrzynski credits the organization with providing opportunities to build relationships, which led to scholarships to pursue her education and internships to expand upon her classroom experiences.

Pursuing her M.S.A., working as a graduate assistant in the Department of Accountancy and passing all sections of the CPA exam prior to her first position with BDO, Modrzynski surged toward success. While at BDO, she supported corporate clients across a variety of industries with federal, state and international tax matters.

She then spent seven years at Meritor (now Cummins-Meritor). There, she gained a variety of experience with roles in tax, treasury and human resources. Some project highlights include a three-month assignment in Wales working with the EU tax team, managing the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on global incentive compensation plans and supporting mergers and acquisitions due diligence.

Recently, she has shifted her focus to the nonprofit space, joining the finance team at Forgotten Harvest, where she looks forward to serving the organization’s mission of relieving food insecurity and preventing nutritious food waste in the Metro Detroit community.
