International Student Activities

Western Michigan University's International Student Activities office, in collaboration with the student-run International Programs Council, facilitates regular and ongoing international activities on campus, such as an International Festival and a week-long celebration of International Education Week.

The International Student Activities office also plans numerous service-learning, cultural, and recreational activities to help international students engage with the campus and local community.

Additionally, WMU hosts numerous WMU international Registered Student Organizations.

Primary objectives

  • Plan and host educational, cultural, and recreational events and activities to bring together international and American students for mutually beneficial cultural exchange.
  • To assist international students in getting acquainted with American university life.
  • To help international students learn about the many resources available in the Kalamazoo community.
  • To provide guidance and support to WMU’s International Programs Council.
