Exercise Science

Western Michigan University's exercise science program will prepare you for a career in the areas of physical fitness and health promotion, cardiac rehabilitation, and fitness assessment and exercise prescription. It is also an excellent choice if you plan to enter graduate or chiropractic school or a professional program in physical therapy, occupational therapy or medicine.

Beyond the classroom

As an exercise science student at WMU, you will be required to complete a culminating 450-hour internship upon finishing your coursework as a last step towards graduation. You may complete your hours with any approved site and supervisor that will support exercise science-related experiences and progress toward career-related goals.
