Worried about the cost? We have funding available through client scholarships!
Since 2018, the Center for Disability Services and Adult Wellness programs has received funding to provide free and reduced cost services for eligible seniors in the county.
It is the goal of WMU Adult Wellness Programs to provide our aging community with valuable, relevant programming for individuals whether they want to get healthy, stay fit, learn new skills, meet new friends, enhance quality of life or even participate in evidence based programs. WMU Adult Wellness Programs provides assistance for individuals through community based programming.
WMU Senior Day Services is an adult day program designed to serve individuals with cognitive or functional impairments that need special assistance or supervision during the day. Since 2001, we have offered organized daily activities in a community setting. Our approach to adult day programming is a combination of social interaction and rehabilitative activities that encourage using the individuals’ strengths to improve health.
Our safe and supportive environment provides ongoing learning and positive growth experiences for older adults. We strive to give families an affordable alternative to in-home health aide services. We care for those who:
- Have Alzheimer’s or other dementias
- Have developmental disabilities or cognitive impairments
- Have chronic illness
- Have issues with mental health
- Are physically declining
- Are veterans
- Are looking for daily socialization
