Welcome to the Black Faculty and Staff Council (BFSC)
The Black Faculty and Staff Council (BFSC) at Western Michigan University exists to foster a supportive, inclusive, and empowering environment for Black employees while contributing to the success and well-being of the entire campus community.
We provide a space for connection, advocacy, professional development, and celebration of cultural heritage. Our work strengthens equity, belonging, and collaboration across WMU by building bridges between faculty, staff, students, and campus partners.
While our name reflects our focus on uplifting and advancing Black faculty and staff, the BFSC welcomes the participation, partnership, and allyship of all members of the WMU community who share a commitment to equity, excellence, and collective growth. Together, we work to ensure that every voice is valued, every person is supported, and every contribution is recognized.
We invite you to engage with us, share in our vision, and join in creating a stronger, more connected WMU.
