Kalamazoo Centenarians Gather for Celebration

The Celebrate Elderhood first annual Centenarian Luncheon was held at the Kalamazoo Country Club in April. SDS participant, Bettie Sickles, joined 14 fellow centenarians their families and friends as they were honored by individual proclamations signed by local legislators and Governor Snyder.

Rep. Fred Upton, Sen. Margaret O’Brien, Rep. Beth Griffin, and Melissa Fish from Rep. Jon Hoadley’s office, were on hand to present the certificates. Speakers were Don Ryan, chair of the Older Adult Services Advisory Council, Judy Sivak, director of the Area Agency on Aging IIIA and Rep. Fred Upton.
