Senior Day Services Staff Honored

Jerome Carter and Susan Longjohn

Two long-time employees of Western Michigan University Senior Day Services, part of the Center for Disability Services, have been nominated for Excellence in Care as a Direct Care Worker and will be honored at the Kalamazoo “Celebrate Elderhood: Honoring Wisdom & Recognizing Excellence” banquet. Jerome Carter and Susan Longjohn have demonstrated commitment, excellence, best practices and innovation in serving elders in Kalamazoo County during their employment with WMU Senior Day Services.

The Celebrate Elderhood initiative was designed by The Area Agency on Aging Region IIIA and the Older Adult Services Advisory Council to “set a community standard where elders and the people and organizations that make up the network of service providers are valued, respected and supported so Kalamazoo County is known as a great place to grow up and grow old in.” Carter and Longjohn will be recognized May 18 at the Radisson in Kalamazoo.
