SME Chapter 116 - Kalamazoo (apply through the SME Education Foundation)

The Kalamazoo scholarship fund honors Roscoe H. Douglas, professor emeritus of mechanical engineering at Western Michigan University, who passed away in January 1993. Douglas was an active Society of Manufacturing Engineers—SME— member at Chapter 116 for many years. At the time of his retirement, Douglas was the mechanical engineering department's representative to the American Association of University Professors, served as faculty advisor to the SME student chapter and had completed robotics-teaching curriculum that involved a nationwide survey of colleges and universities.
