Services provided by the University-Community Empowerment Center at Western Michigan University are delivered to help people and organizations build capacity, create opportunities, overcome barriers and inspire action to alleviate poverty. Such services follow:
- Conducting program evaluations and needs assessments for organizations that serve low-income populations.
- Researching and publishing scholarly articles and opinion pieces.
- Offering classes and training opportunities for individuals and organizations.
- Organizing community discussions and assisting in creating poverty reduction action plans.
