A snapshot of our past

The Evaluation Center was founded in 1965 and is one of the oldest centers in the country.

The Evaluation Center was founded in 1965 by Daniel Stufflebeam at The Ohio State University. Dr. Stufflebeam moved the center to Western Michigan University in1973.

While recuperating from a serious injury in the late 1990s, Dr. Stufflebeam had the idea to create a “Wall of Honor” to recognize the people who made major contributions to the center over the years, including the founders, colleagues at The Ohio State University, and colleagues at WMU, spanning the years of 1965 to 1998.
