Postcard-writing Campaign and Voter Information Session

Posted by Isabelle Topor for Climate Change Working Group

Student led event by OUTspoken RSO - free pizza at this event!

Voting is one of the most direct actions we can take to address climate change and promote environmental justice. During this event, participants will learn best practices for finding the names and addresses of the elected officials in their districts and how to register to vote. The group will have an open discussion about climate change facts, including how climate change is affecting our home state of Michigan. Then participants will work in guided break-out groups to write postcards with messages to their elected officials about the importance of addressing climate change through legislation. The main focus will be to encourage the Michigan State House and Senate to review and pass the Community Solar bills that have been introduced.  Pizza will be provided to all participants!
