In 2000, there were about 40 retractions from the scholarly literature. In 2023, there were more than 10,000. That is a dramatic increase, even accounting for the growing number of papers published per year. In this talk, I will explore the reasons for the increase, why it is good news, and why the real number should be even higher — including in the social and behavioral sciences.

This presentation is the culminating capstone project of the BFA curriculum. The projects reflect each student’s artistic interests as a practicing dance artist with a focus on expanding their range of experience, demonstrate the student’s development in choreography and/or performance, and reflect the student’s current career goals. The dance and its production are the culmination of the student’s studies in dance technique, theory, and aesthetics.
