Energy Metering
Western Michigan University owns and operates many meters, as well as collects and analyzes data from utility-owned meters. In total WMU, collects and analyzes data from over 700 meters including:
- Chilled water.
- Domestic water.
- Electricity.
- Heating water.
- Natural gas.
- Steam.
At a minimum, campus buildings are metered at the building level for all major utilities and some also have sub-metering.
Energy Consumption
Facilities Management also maintains many energy consumption reports to keep track of our energy reduction efforts.
