Heating and Cooling

Do you work in an office in an older building on campus that has manually controlled thermostats or window air conditioners? Please do your part to help the University save energy by staying in line with the temperature set point policy. During occupied times, the heating set point is 69 degrees Fahrenheit and the cooling set point is 74 degrees. During unoccupied times, the heating set point is 60 degrees Fahrenheit and the cooling set point is 85 degrees.

Energy tip

If you work in an area where you have individual control of your temperature, you can save even more. Every degree that you set the thermostat up or down can save three to five percent of the heating or cooling energy in your building.
