Operations and Inventory
Information management system
The Engineering Division at Western Michigan University Facilities Management remotely monitors over 3.5 million square feet of building space through the information management system. The system provides constant electronic coverage via the Department of Public Safety. The two information management systems are located at the public safety building and Maintenance Services in the Physical Plant building.
Alarms received from these two information management stations are acknowledged, processed and corrected or repaired in a timely manner. The system monitors and displays general, supervisory and trouble alarm messages.
