**RELOCATE**Vegetation Guidelines

Western Michigan University is dedicated to using only native species plants in any landscaping on campus. Native species are plants that have naturally occurred in the ecosystem for many years. Native plants are well-adapted to our environment, so they require less maintenance such as water and fertilizer. Native plants also better support the local wildlife. The documents below detail which plants are native and which are alien. For more information on local native plants.
