WMUx and Merze Tate College are pleased to announce the development of a joint faculty fellow position for the 2022-2023 academic year designed to advance student success initiatives, including WMU’s ongoing Gateways to Completion (G2C) project, focused on improving student success in courses that have high rates of Ds, Fs, Withdrawals, and Incompletes (DFWI).
Working with representatives from the WMUx Instructional Development and Support Team and Merze Tate College’s Student Success Services and reporting to Dr. Gwen Tarbox, Director of the WMUx Office of Faculty Development, the faculty fellow will:

- establish assessment measures that clearly link academic content and practice to success initiatives; and,
- serve as a co-liaison with Katie Easley, Director of Student Success Services in Merze Tate College, for the Gateways to Completion (G2C) project.
All board-appointed faculty at any stage of their career are invited to apply. Preferred qualifications include previous experience developing, implementing, and assessing courses designed to address retention and student success, as well as conducting scholarship and/or service that focuses on retention and student success in higher education.
The faculty member selected for this position will be provided with a one-course buy-out at part time rates in each academic semester (Fall 2022 and Spring 2023) and a 5.5% non-teaching stipend for one summer session (Summer I or Summer II 2022).
Complete applications should include a current vita, and a brief letter that clearly addresses the candidate’s qualifications for and interest in the position, and a letter of support from the applicant's chair or director.
