Boren Awards - WMU Campus Deadline
Introduction
The Boren Awards are merit-based scholarships and fellowships funded by the National Security Education Program (NSEP) that encourage U.S. undergraduate and graduate students to study in areas of the world critical to U.S. national security. These awards prioritize the study of languages and cultures that are underrepresented in study abroad and are deemed important for national security.
Overview
Undergraduate applicants for the Boren Scholarship must submit complete draft materials for internal review by the first Monday of WMU’s spring term. WMU’s campus review process offers one-on-one advising on crafting a competitive application.
How to Apply
- Email Dr. Michelle Metro-Roland the Boren Campus Advisor at WMU for an appointment in Fall to discuss the application process
- Provide draft essays by Dec 15 for review
- Submit complete application for WMU Campus Deadline which is the First Monday of Spring Semester
- Revise essays and submit application for the Boren national deadline
Dr. Metro-Roland will coordinate WMU’s internal review and provide guidance on strengthening your Boren application.
