Fireside Chat with Chef Abang Brian
Join us for a Fireside Chat with Chef Abang Brian. From auditor to apron, Brian of MasterChef Malaysia fame, is a celebrated chef, educator, food researcher and serial entrepreneur with nearly two decades of experience in food, media, and education.
Founder of The Hungry Immigrant podcast and author of seven cookbooks, including two Gourmand International Award winners, Brian has dedicated his career in putting culture on the plate and community at the table.
He will visit WMU Thursday, April 9, from 4 to 5 p.m., in room 2209/2211 of the Student Center.

- October 2025, Dr. Karen Korematsu, the founder and president of the Fred T. Korematsu Institute, and the daughter of the late civil rights icon, Fred Korematsu, spoke on civil liberties, social justice, civics and ethnic studies education. Fred Korematsu was an American civil rights activist who resisted the internment of Japanese Americans during World War II.
