The Healthy Campus 2020 tactical action community met for several months to conduct a comprehensive review of national and WMU data and best practice strategies in order to make recommendations for WMU. The following criteria and approaches were used in these consensus-based decisions.
- Compare WMU data to national data and benchmarks
- Adopt or adapt national priorities and objectives where relevant to WMU
- Apply accepted theoretical frameworks and evidence-informed strategies
- Balance strategies that are designed to address the campus population from an approach that is universal, selected, or indicated
- Consider implications on financial and staffing resources and sustainability of initiatives
- Stagger implementation
The current action plans for BeHealthyWMU are continually being updated and adapted as the needs, resources, and climate changes at WMU. Additional data is being monitored by the HC2020 committee that is not listed on the action plans, as we only listed the key performance measures determined by the group.
