Jan. 4, 2016
Scott Allison (BS ’00, Athletic Training), began his career immediately following graduation by taking a position as athletic trainer of the Kalamazoo Wings as part of the International Hockey League (Dallas Stars affiliate) for one season. From there, the Wings and Allison moved on to the next season into the now defunct United Hockey League, where he served as head athletic trainer and Equipment manager for three seasons.
At this point, Allison moved to Bronson Lakeview Hospital in Paw Paw, Michigan to work in their rehab department for six years before moving on to work at Holland Hospital as a contracted athletic trainer with West Ottawa High School in Holland, Michigan. There, Allison was in charge of over 600 athletes and 13 different sports.
After three years, Allison was contacted by the Kalamazoo Wings head Coach and asked to fill their open position of head athletic trainer. Allison has been in this position for four seasons and will reach his 500th professional hockey game this season.
