This program provides public recognition of the outstanding achievements of graduates (bachelor's and master's degrees) of the former Physical Education Men's and Women's (PEM, PEW) programs, Health, Physical Education and Recreation (HPER), and Human Performance and Health Education (HPHE) Departments.
The program seeks to: acknowledge the professional accomplishments, recognition, and service of distinguished individuals; and to increase visibility of the HPHE Department through publicity of the professional contributions of the graduates representing the collective fields of health, physical education and recreation.
Process
Nominations will be solicited from the graduates of the Physical Education Men's and Women's (PEM, PEW) programs, Health, Physical Education and Recreation (HPER), and the Department of Human Performance and Health Education (HPHE). Nominations must be accompanied by a current resume or vita; a letter of support is also encouraged. Self-nominations are accepted.
Selection process
The awardees will be selected by a committee appointed by the department chair. The award committee will be composed of current HPHE faculty and emeriti.
