Nine of Western Michigan University's undergraduate exercise science students represented the ExSci Club at the Midwest American College of Sports Medicine fall meeting that was held Nov. 7 to 8 in Merrillville, Indiana. Three of the students, Paige Molitor, Josh Coenen, and Zachery McConnell, participated in the annual Quiz Bowl and made it through the first elimination round. Also at the meeting representing WMU, were faculty members Carol Weideman and Lindsay Toth, and personal trainer Amy Fisher. While at the meeting, Toth presented a poster of her thesis entitled, “A Comparison of Accuracy for the Dual-axial Omron and Tri-axial Fitbit Accelerometers.” Toth was awarded the “Outstanding Conference Presentation” for a graduate student.
