Mingchen Zhao earned her bachelor’s degree in Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language and her master’s degree in Linguistics and Applied Linguistics from Beijing Language and Culture University (BLCU). She began teaching Chinese at Mount Holyoke College while in graduate school. Since completing her master’s degree, she has dedicated herself to teaching Chinese and promoting Chinese culture.
Her experience includes teaching at Western Michigan University, Kalamazoo Chinese Academy, Northern High School, a middle school Chinese immersion program, and the Chinese Flagship Program at the University of North Georgia. She has taught learners of all ages and proficiency levels, from young children to college students, in both regular and immersion settings.
In addition to teaching, she has helped organize a variety of cultural events within local communities.
