KALAMAZOO--Western Michigan University's annual comedy competition, Last Bronco Standing, begins at 9 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 23, in the Bernhard Center Ballroom.

Admission is $1 with a Bronco ID and $2 without. Doors open at 8:30 p.m.

The event is modeled after NBC's Last Comic Standing and is a three-round competition for WMU student comedians. The Feb. 23 event is the only public round of the WMU contest. Contestants will have already performed privately in front of a panel of judges and another time for the CAB general assembly. The finalists are freshman Brendan Duffy of Tinley Park, Ill., and seniors Alec Robbins of West Bloomfield Township, Mich., and Joe Stando of Ann Arbor, Mich.

In the last round, finalists will perform for 15 minutes each for the public. The Last Bronco Standing will be determined by a panel of three judges and may get the chance to open for another comedian this spring.

Last Bronco Standing is sponsored by the Campus Activities Board. Visit wmich.edu/cab for more information, or contact Nick Spaleny at @email.
