Mentor incoming students while gaining valuable employment skills.

KALAMAZOO--Western Michigan University students who would like to be a positive role model and mentor for a group of incoming first-year students during the week prior to classes beginning this fall are encouraged to apply to be a fall ambassador.

Applications are due by 5 p.m. on Friday, March 16, to the Fall Welcome office, 1535 Ellsworth Hall. Group interviews will be held the week of March 26.

Leaders will attend a weekend of training Aug. 24-31 where they will learn more about WMU and the Kalamazoo community, develop skills in group problem solving, conflict resolution, interpersonal communication and team building. Being a fall welcome ambassador will provide leaders the opportunity to interact with a diverse population of students and foster skills important for future employment.
