KALAMAZOO--Western Michigan University's first service-learning awards celebration will be held beginning at 5:15 p.m. Thursday, April 12, at the Fetzer Center. A program of the Nonprofit Leadership Student Association will be held immediately prior to the service learning awards.

Reservations for the combined events are requested by Sunday, April 8, and may be made by writing to @email or by calling (269) 387-2155.

Both events are open to the public free of charge, but are intended primarily for WMU faculty, staff, students and representatives of WMU's service learning and nonprofit community partners.

At the service learning program, three WMU faculty or staff members, three WMU students, and three community organizations that partner with WMU on service-learning initiatives will receive awards for excellence in service-learning. A reception with complimentary hor d'oeuvres begins at 5:15 p.m. and the awards ceremony begins at 5:30 p.m.

Immediately prior to the service learning awards, WMU's Nonprofit Leadership Student Association will hold a reception and networking hour, "Nonprofit Celebration: Honoring the Gift of Giving," beginning with complimentary hors d'oeuvres at 4 p.m.

When replying to @email or (269) 387-2155, please indicate which event you will attend or if you will attend both.
