Dance concerts feature student choreography

KALAMAZOO--"Incite, In Mind," a concert featuring the choreography of five Western Michigan University senior dance majors, will take place Thursday through Sunday, April 12-15, in Dance Studio B on the third floor of the Dalton Center.

Performance schedule for "Incite, In Mind"

  • Thursday, April 12, at 8 p.m.
  • Friday, April 13, at 8 p.m.
  • Saturday, April 14, at 2 and 8 p.m.
  • Sunday, April 15, at 2 p.m.

All featured student choreographers are candidates for a bachelor of fine arts degree. Listed with their respective dance works, they are:

  • Ashley Deran, "Under Ouse"
  • Corey Neumann, "Tränen Von Regen"
  • Kaitlyn Pollock, "Beneath Consciousness"
  • Marley Schmidt
  • Rachel Siegel, "LoveMe & mEnd."

Guest artist Autumn Eckman of Chicago also will premiere a new dance, "To Sides," which she choreographed for this year's seniors. Sponsored by Partners in Dance, the commissioned piece will showcase the strengths and struggles of each dancer.

Tickets

Tickets for "Incite, In Mind" at WMU's Dalton Center are $10 and $5 for WMU students with a valid Bronco ID Card. They can be purchased by calling (269) 387-2300 or (800) 228-9858, online at millerauditorium.com, or by visiting the Miller Auditorium Ticket Office.
