Dale D. King obituary
Dale D. King, a retired Western Michigan University faculty member lauded for his teaching, died April 9. He was 88.
King joined the WMU faculty in 1957 and retired in 1984 after 27 years of service to the University. He received the Alumni Teaching Excellence Award from the WMU Alumni Association in 1978 for his superior classroom teaching skills and professional expertise.
An associate professor emeritus of mechanical engineering, King wrote several chapters in technical books, was a consultant to the Kalamazoo Public Schools apprenticeship-training program, and was a consulting contributor and editor for mechanical engineering books published by the W.C. Brown Book Co. based in Iowa.
