Six employees receive 2011-12 awards from APA-PSSO

KALAMAZOO--Six Western Michigan University staff members received 2011-12 awards from the Administrative Professional Association and Professional Support Staff Organization during the annual APA-PSSO Awards and Spring Luncheon May 17.
The awards and spring luncheon, which had a casino theme this year, brings together members of the APA and PSSO non-bargaining groups to socialize as well as recognize the hard work and dedication of WMU staffers.
APA-PSSO awardees 2011-12
- Lynda L. Hunt, director of development accounting in Development and Alumni Relations, Tony Griffin Service Award, which recognizes service to APA (nominees must be APA members)
- Kristin E. Kenz, administrative assistant in maintenance services, revolving WMU Spirit Award, which is an informal campuswide honor that recognizes University pride (bestowed by the previous winner)
- Kathy Purnell, research contracts administrator in the Office of the Vice President for Research, APA Outstanding New Professional Award, which recognizes professional excellence and exceptional service by staff members with five or less years of service to WMU (nominees do not need to be APA members)
- Wayne H. Pushie, manager of maintenance services in Facilities Management, Outstanding Professional Award, which recognizes professional excellence and exceptional service by staff members with five or more years of service to WMU (nominees do not need to be APA members)
- Paige Warner, administrative assistant in First-Year Experience Programs, PSSO Service Award, which recognizes service to PSSO (nominees must be PSSO members)
- Patricia A. Wilcox, payroll coordinator in payroll and disbursements, PSSO Service Award, which recognizes service to PSSO (nominees must be PSSO members)
