Trustees approve four retirements

KALAMAZOO—The retirements of four staff members were approved by the Western Michigan University Board of Trustees at its July 25 meeting.

Trustees also signed off on one faculty resignation.

Staff retirements

The names, positions, years of continuous service and effective dates of retirement for the staff members who are retiring are:

• Maxine R. Gilling, senior research associate for Gear Up Learning Centers, 22 years, effective July 31, 2012.
• William A. Green, director of pharmacy at Sindecuse Health Center, 10 years, effective June 13, 2012.
• Linda M. Rowen, office assistant in the Department of Psychology, 22 years, effective July 31, 2012.
• David H. Smith, director of University publications in the Office of University Relations, 34 years, effective June 30, 2012.

Faculty resignation

The faculty member who is resigning is Dr. Pingbo Tang, assistant professor of civil and construction engineering, effective July 15, 2012.
