KALAMAZOO--The Kalamazoo Film Society will present "Damsels in Distress" Friday through Sunday, July 13-15, at Western Michigan University's Little Theatre.

Show times are 7 and 9:30 p.m. Friday; 4:30, 7 and 9:30 p.m. Saturday; and 2:30, 5 and 7:30 p.m. Sunday. Admission is $5.

"Damsels in Distress" is a comedy about a trio of beautiful girls--the dynamic leader Violet (Greta Gerwig), principled Rose (Megalyn Echikunwoke) and sultry Heather (Carrie MacLemore)--as they set out to revolutionize life at their college with a program that seeks to help severely depressed students through good hygiene and dance. The girls' friendships are threatened when they welcome transfer student Lily (Analeigh Tipton) into the group and become romantically entangled with a series of men, including smooth Charlie (Adam Brody), dreamboat Xavier (Hugo Becker), and frat boys Frank (Ryan Metcalf) and Thor (Billy Magnussen).

Written and directed by Whit Stillman, "Damsels in Distress" is rated PG for thematic elements, including sexual content. Released in 2011, the film has a run time of 99 minutes.

The Little Theatre is located at the corner of Oakland Drive and Oliver Lane on WMU's East Campus. Free off-street parking is available behind the theatre.
