Board to consider new AFSCME contract Friday

KALAMAZOO—The Western Michigan University Board of Trustees has scheduled a special conference call meeting for 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 10, to consider approval of a new employee contract.

The session, which is a formal public session, will originate from the Connable Board Room on the second floor of the Bernhard Center. The sole agenda item is consideration of the terms of a new three-year contract with the WMU chapter of the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees, Local 1668.

Members of AFSCME are scheduled to hold a ratification vote on the contract on Aug. 9. The current AFSCME contract expires Aug. 12.
