Campaign end nears; WMU has not met goal.

KALAMAZOO—Members of the Western Michigan University community are invited to join President John M. Dunn as he marks the end of the campus United Way campaign.

The celebration will take place from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday, Nov. 16, in the lobby of the Fetzer Center and in conjunction with the final Fridays with Friends mixer of fall semester. Dunn will acknowledge campaign organizers and contributors, light refreshments will be served, and Buster Bronco will make an appearance. Faculty and staff members who contribute any amount will be entered into the grand prize drawing. Prizes include:

  • Pair of seats in the President's Box for the last home football game
  • $100 gift certificate for Millennium Restaurant Group (Martell's, Epic Bistro, The Union, Fieldstone Grill)
  • Two tickets to the Gold Company's annual performance at Miller Auditorium Feb. 9

WMU still has not surpassed its $300,000 goal. According to campaign directors, more than $255,000 in gifts and pledges has been received from more than 1,100 WMU donors.

Although this year's campaign will officially end Friday, the president's office will continue to collect donations of any amount. Employees and retirees who have not already turned in their pledge cards are encouraged to do so now. For information on making a gift, contact wmu-united-way@wmich.edu.

WMU's campus drive contributes to the $15.3 million overall goal of the United Way of the Battle Creek and Kalamazoo Region.
