KALAMAZOO—The Santorini Island Grill has opened in the Bronco Mall on the lower level of the Bernhard Center at Western Michigan University. Hours during the spring semester are 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. weekdays, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday.

The new restaurant will feature Greek, Mediterranean and popular grilled items in a quick and casual setting. Menu items include gyros, falafel, pita sandwiches, hamburgers, Greek salads, souvlaki (chicken skewers) and rice bowls. Santorini will also offer meal deals that include a main entree, such as a burger or pita sandwich, fries or salad, and a soda at an affordable price.

“The Santorini Island Grill will help balance the restaurant mix for students at the Bernhard Center,” says Paul Terzino, director of the Bernhard Center.  “We want to see something that is different and unique in the Bronco Mall location.”

The decision to add Santorini was made with input from students last fall by the Bernhard Center Advisory Board. The board is chaired by a student and helps to advise the Bernhard Center director.
