Boil water advisory over the weekend for some campus buildings
KALAMAZOO—Three occupied buildings on the Western Michigan University campus will be under a precautionary boil water advisory from the city of Kalamazoo from 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 18, through at least 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 20. The buildings are East Hall, the Seelye Center and Spindler Hall.
The water in those buildings is scheduled to be turned off from 9 a.m. to about 2 p.m. Friday due to repair of a water main leak on Oakland Drive. Once the water to East Hall, the Seelye Center and Spindler Hall is turned back on at 2 p.m., the boil water advisory will be in effect until at least 2 p.m. Sunday.
WMU will provide bottled water to the three buildings, and is making additional arrangements to accommodate the needs of the buildings' occupants and visitors.
More information, including details on the implications of the boil water advisory, will be posted on the WMU website as they become available.
