KALAMAZOO—The Western Michigan University Board of Trustees has scheduled a special conference call meeting for 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 20, to consider approval of a new employee contract.

The session, which is a formal public session, will originate from the Connable Board Room on the second floor of the Bernhard Center. The sole agenda item is consideration of the terms of a new three-year contract with WMU's Part-time Instructors Organization. The group has a membership of 675.

The proposed new three-year contract was ratified by a vote of PIO members Feb. 26. If approved by the board, the contract will go into effect with the start of the fall 2013 semester. PIO and campus administrators began negotiating the new contract in November.
